When rounde to tenths of minutes it never exceeds 0.1' except 2 times when it is roughly 0.2' The errors I had in star distances are usually larger, and always positive. The eyepiece on the 3 times 40 scope was somewhat loose, shaking. (Another case of backlash:-) I did not really care much about this scope because I find my inverting one better under all conditions. They put some thick layer of oil/grease in it. Now it works smoothly, and does not shake. I asked what sort of oil was this, it was written "Carl Zeiss" and some number on the can. They only said "it is not for sale":-) I asked for how long will it last and they said "for long". Alex.
