Alex - I have a Mk IX bubble sextant and the modern type C batteries fit in fine with room to spare. Do you have a Mk IX bubble sextant and are you saying modern C batteries do not fit into it? Or are you confusing the British made Mk IX with the American made Link A-12, which will not accept the modern C cell?
