    1950s C Plath sextant

I've enjoyed NavList for a while, but this is my first post.

I recently acquired a 1958 C Plath sextant.  Unfortunately it is missing the washer (and/or cover) for the back of the index arm bearing.  I believe I have the screw (it was loose in the box).  I've attached a photo (as well a couple of photos before and after taking the sextant apart and cleaning and lubing it - thanks Bill Morris, I'd never have dared do it without your book and blog!).

Two questions.  First, does anyone know where I might find the missing part?  I've emailed Robert E. White already, but are there any other potential sources?  Fabricating one with a flat side on the ID is probably beyond my abilities (though if I can't find the part I may try casting one out of epoxy).

Second, if anyone happens to have a photo of the same sextant, I'd be very interested in seeing exactly what the missing part is supposed to look like.  I've done a bit of browsing on the internet and there are of course lots of photos of similar old C Plath sextants, but I haven't seen one showing the back of the sextant.

    many thanks
