I meant to mention a trick for movie searching that I discovered recently. Suppose you remember a line from an old movie, or a portion of a line, or even just a word that is likely to be near a scene you're looking for. You can find the right scene and surrounding dialog by locating a subtitle file for the film. Here's a good source for subtitle files. Find your language and your film, and then download it (usually a zip archive with an "srt" file in it). The file type ".srt" is just a text file with time stamps and corresponding text. So for example, to locate the sextant scene in "Das Boot", I simply searched the subtitle file for the word "degrees". It's in there quite a bit, but in less than a minute I had a time stamp for the right spot. Loading up the movie, I was able to get to the right scene in less than five minutes from when I started my search.
