But I have been run over by Stephen Hawking's wheelchair! He was motoring quite determinedly, and unaccompanied, along a busy pavement in Kings Parade. He ran over my foot outside the Copper Kettle. Although the cause of the bruising was memorable I can't imagine my 'close encounter' was in any way a unique occurrence. He probably had other things on his mind!
