Articles from an on-line 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica: http://45.1911encyclopedia.org/S/SE/SEXTANT.htm http://29.1911encyclopedia.org/C/CO/COMPASS.htm As noted on the home page, many of the links to individual articles are broken. One maddening example is the one to the Navigation article. In some cases you can get some of the missing article by clicking on the preceding or following article. E.g., click on Navigation Law and you'll see the tail end of the Navigation article. There are quite a few glitches in the text, probably because it came from an optical character reader. 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica home page: http://www.1911encyclopedia.org/ -- paulhirose@earthlink.net (Paul Hirose)
