Two LOPs give a position, but no indication of possible error. Three LOPs that almost meet (small triangle) give an indication of little error, while a large triangle indicates one or more of the LOPs may be less than accurate. This is one of the advantages of 'best fitting' a number of sights of the same body to the slope of the apparent rise/fall - how well the sights fit the slope gives an indication of the relative accuracy of the resulting LOP. -----Original Message----- From: Alexandre Eremenko Can anyone explain, under what circumstances one could possibly want to determine her position from 3 LOP's?
