Unless you're all thumbs at using the internet, or you have severe bandwidth limitations, don't waste your money (even small money). The DVD contains PDF files that you can easily, easily download from Google Books or archive.org. We have a list with links to many of these right here on the NavList message boards: http://fer3.com/arc/navbooks2.html. That list has been mostly unchanged for 15 years.
And DVD? I was getting a liitle medical attention yesterday, and the p.a. offered to put some photos on dvd for me for my records. I paused for a moment and then asked him, "do you have a dvd drive on your computer at home?" He thought a bit and answered, "Oh... those are already obsolete, aren't they?!" Pretty much.
By the way, the long s letter in old printing definitely resembles the letter f, but if you look closely, it's not an f. Details: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_s.
