The correct Bristol wrench size to fill the bubble assembly is the third largest one available in the SS-508 SPLINE KEY KIT. It is the 4 flutes key number S-076-4. You can order this small kit (9 keys) for 16$-20$ from Max Gain Inc (very friendly people) here; http://www.mgs4u.com/Bristol-spline-L-keys.htm#ss508. The largest key of this kit, the S-111-6, is also the best suited wrench to slacken the index mirror fastening screw on its axis in order to perform the index error coarse adjustment. Alternatively, but not recommended, you can use a 3/32 inch hexagon Allen key for the index mirror adjustment. I include a pdf of the Bristol Wrench Catalog. Good luck.

I, too, have an A-12 that I purchased on eBay several months ago. Restoring it
is on my "projects list" which means that it is temporarily sidelined. I know that my the bubble illumination assembly is stuck and appreciate JPP's advice. One other thing is getting the correct size Bristol wrench to fill the bubble assembly. I ordered a set of Bristol wrenches
(again on eBay), but none of them fit. I wonder if anyone can advise concerning the correct size for the wrench?
