I would suggest brass, or better bronze, for
your new part. Both are much less reactive than zinc (and stronger) and still
better than aluminum. And before you install the new part, apply an
anti-corrosive barrier (inert grease, antioxidant, antigalvanic paste, etc.) to
it anyway.
