    A12 Sextant Maintenance
    From: David Pike

I’ve set myself the task of getting my A12 working.  Please can anyone answer the following questions?

    1.  I’ve seen photos of bubble chambers with clear glass, but mine looks like the man who fell to Earth’s eyes.  See photos.  Is this normal or has someone filled it with something nasty?

    2.  Does anyone know which size of Bristol key I should look for to undo the filler grub screw?  They’re not exactly cheap, so I don’t want to pay for the wrong one. See Photo.

    3.  Bearing in mind this is just a fun project, and anything will be better that the current situation; will there be much difference between filling the cylinder with XyleneCP, lighter fluid, or even bio ethanol, of which I’ve already got several litres for TIKIs stove?

    4.  How can I stop the recording drum falling off every time I turn the sextant over?
    Thanks. DaveP
