If you want to check the accuracy of the result you can use the formula from AFPAM 11-216. There are typos, you need to add one more set of parenthesis to the formula.
I just remembered, years ago I programmed my Casio PB-1000 to do these calculations.
So. 10 degrees to 20 degrees latitude, 40 degrees of longitude: GC 2387.9 nm, 70.7course; RL 2391.3, course 75.5. Dist error= 1.3 nm; course the same.
10 degrees to 30 degrees latitude, 40 degrees of longitude: GC 2535.3 nm, 55.9 course; RL 2541.8, course 61.8..Dist error = 8.2 nm; course 0.7 degrees error.
I had never done this comparison before but it looks like the A-5 is pretty darn accurate!
