I checked and found still some radioactivity so I used an electric toothbrush with some toothpaste to finish the job in the threads and crannies

I hope you didn't use your personal toothbrush. Actually, that reminds me of a story I heard long ago. A chap in a train sleeping compartment woke to find his companion (a stranger) using his toothbrush. Upon being challenged the stranger said "Oh, I allways thought they were provided by the Railways.
