I have  discovered that I can turn the "create paypal account" 'button off. When I do a "pay as guest"  button appears. That is more like it! I do not know how fast (or slow) the US banking system is but if you were in NZ by now  a famous American gentleman would have deposited some money in your account. Unfortunately I had to visit NZ to send the money - I could not send it from Mongolia.

I know, I am probably making a fuss about nothing but I have been on the internet since 1996 and the only problem I have ever had was the stoned virus in DOS days. Plus I am retired and probably do not have any better things to do!

Please continue to provide a forum that is advertising free and which has a format that is infinitely better than Facebook.

Just a thought. Are you familiar with groups.io? It was created after yahoo groups self destructed and mimics classic yahoo. AFAIK it is not advertising supported. I do not know if it could host navlist (possibly free). Here is an example of a very small group with a very low traffic count

I recommend the first message in the Trentham thread. I suggest that the photo is superior to one of a Husan sextant on navlist (\duck for cover).

Finally I have  found some more information about Mr Bartlett, chronometer rater, of Auckland. Maybe I will increase the month's message count?
