A NavList member reported a possible problem with posting NavList messages by email. Do not worry... I do not believe this is a general problem. I tried numerous tests in the past few days and could not find any similar issues. But I'm willing to look into specific problems, too, if it's of any use. If you send an email to the NavList email posting address, and if that email bounces back to you with some error message, maybe "your message is spam and has been rejected" or something like that, please forward the message to me. Do not copy and paste the message. Instead please use your email "forward" function since that guarantees that the email headers are included which may include useful clues. You may have to poke around a bit to find this. In gmail, the "forward" function is under the "more" or "three dots" menu, which is right next to the "reply" button near the top of any message as you read it, and there is also a more obvious "forward" button near the bottom of any email that you're viewing. Forward to me at Frank@ReedNavigation.com. Thanks.
Don't Panic. please do not become obsessed over this. It's not 1999... :) Please do not send any "test" messages, unless you are sure, really sure, that you have experienced an email posting problem and you want to grab an error message to forward to me. In that case, fine, test away... Test messages will not propagate (will not be distributed).
I have kept "posting by email" available as an option since I know some of you are unlikely to learn any new habits. But I do encourage all of you to post via the usual web interface at https://navlist.net. Also, please avoid composing your messages in offline formatting tools or apps. In other words, if possible, don't write your message in MS Word or some other product and then send it as email or copy paste it into the web interface. If you do edit offline, try using a plain text editor like good old "Notepad" on WIndows or equivalents on other platforms --something that create only unformatted text. Then you can paste that into the online web interface editor, add any formatting you like there, and the results will be cleaner. Thanks!
