NavList:

In late August, Peter Smith sent me copies of a few dozen messages from the early days of this online community. I added them to the archive in September, but I decided to wait for a major re-build of the index before announcing. If you visit the main NavList web page and scroll down to the bottom, you'll discover that there's an entire year that wasn't there before: 1995! In any other corner of the Internet, messages from 1995 would be merely quaint, but some of you may find some valuable content in there or at least food for thought. Big thanks to Peter Smith for forwarding these. If anyone else out there has any messages from the early days stored away, please let me know. And of course, though he's moved on to other interests, we should still thank Dan Allen for his large archive covering about 90% of message traffic in the period from 1996 to 2006. 

Also, I have resolved a bug. Some of you noticed that files larger than two megabytes (rather small these days) could not be uploaded in recent weeks. Bill Morris pointed this out to me, and I believe Gary LaPook also mentioned it. This was caused by a change on the server, outside my direct control, which occurred sometime late last summer. I took a while to figure it out, but that's resolved, and it is now possible to upload files (as message "attachments") larger than 200 megabytes, which should be adequate for nearly all purposes.
