Greg,
After reading your posts, I think I’ll take your recommendation and just clean up the optics. I don’t see any trouble with correcting for this error with simple arithmetic. I frequently fly with my restored units and I would rather have an accurate counter and not take the risk involved with any disassembly further than necessary. I’ll post my results as soon as I have a chance to take it up.

Dave,
After disassembling the horizon prism on my Navy MK 5 today there were some difficulties getting everything back together and lined up (four adjustment screws) so I do not recommend adjusting the horizon prism unless it is necessary. One more suggestion is to clean all the lenses, prisms, and filterers while everything is uncovered and apart.
