The wrinkle of course is that distance measurement on inland lakes and waterways, including the Great Lakes, is done in statute miles. Arghh!! I would always work in nautical miles for 60D = st purposes and overall consistency, but if I ever had to voice a distance over VHF or in a report, I would be careful to say "nautical miles". And then there is that damned Sea-Doo with its speedometer in mi/h. More Arghh!! John Kabel London, ON > John, I've always seen and used "nm".
