Advice on Box Sextant

All,
I'm considering buying a box/pocket sextant on eBay. There is what appears to be a very nice example currently listed. (Item # 121930671000) However, It looks as though there is no telescope on the sextant, only a pin hole. (Picture attached.) Can anyone advise me on whether this might make the instrument difficult to use? Any other advice is also most welcome! Thank you.
