Re: Ageton Classic SR Table PDF

    Gary,

The Ageton Classic table that is provided at the beginning of this thread has Ageton AB log values sandwitced by natural sin cos values. This makes 4 place decimal multipling possible by addition.

    Example:

    (.3396)(.8042) = .2731

    nat .3396      log 46908

    nat .8042   + log  9463

                       _________

                        log 56371   =  nat .2731

Excellent, Greg. Had not thought of that. Another plus for the Ageton logarithms.

    Hewitt,
The Ageton Classic table also does a great job of multiplying two 4 place decimal numbers such as the multiplication step in the Hav Doniol reduction.
A double stack of AB values followed by a lookup will get the P value for the Hav Doniol reduction in half the time of a four place longhand multiplication with less chance of error.

Greg, this is really nice. Now we have two super-compact Sight Reduction tables:
Doniol for those who can handle the multiplication of a stack of two five digit numbers.
Ageton Classic for those like me who find it easier to add a stack of two or three logarithms.
