Hi All,
If I may, just a quick update on my "SOLD in Case" project: I have now added a stopwatch to the setup.
By that I'll have the other hand free (except for the time when pushing a stopwatch button).
My time taking method is the following:
(1) Start the stopwatch at a given (exact) time ("starting time") and note same.
(2) Stop watch at shot (either total - single shot - or as a/many split time(s) - multiple shots).
(3) Note taken sextant altitude and corresponding stopwatch time.
(4) Add stopwatch time to starting time for shot evaluation.
This setup is quite relaxing when taking shots. No jitter because of hand shake, full concentration on centering the moon/sun/star/planet into the center of the bubble, and easy time taking. As a result I am getting astonishingly good results with this 80+ years old instrument.
Werner
