Art, I bought a Polhemus on ebay. Looks like it was never used. I plotted a few fixes obtained with my Link A12. Works great.
I think I'll try the clear wrap method for the Kollsman. I have transparency film on the way too. I think the slide cover may produce a bit of refraction. I'm not getting consistent shots to where I can say a definitive IC has been obtained. I find the sextant a bit harder to use than others I've had. The A10A amd Link are very easy to use. Ive also got a Plath with a Dragonfly, and an A10A bubble that has been adapted to fit the Plath. These work perfectly, but working on and calibrating old aircraft sextants is more rewarding when a good fix is obtained. I recently shot a series of sunlines and LAN with the Link that was right on top of my GPS position. Very rewarding, and is one reason I really like the Link as it can be calibrated easily, and maintained just as easy.
