People in the US, Mexico, Caribbean, Central America, and a corner of Canada have a chance to see an occultation of Aldebaran (α Tauri) tonight. http://www.lunar-occultations.com/iota/iotandx.htm Unfortunately, the Moon phase is waning gibbous. When the Moon is waning, the star disappears on the illuminated limb and appears on the dark limb. The reverse condition is more interesting to watch.
