The other day, got an email from our local public library, they had a DVD we had reserved, and forgotten about for us. Turned out to be All Is Lost, about which there had earlier been some discussion here.
We viewed the thing tonite, along with dinner. Notwithstanding what appeared to be some foolishness with a sextant, looked like an Astra iii B, not previously unpacked, it turns out to have been an interesting film, including that last minute rescue.
As for the two container ship that passed by, I'm not any sort of sea-faring person, but it strikes me as strange that there was seemingly nobody on watch on either vessel. Fair enough, a small life raft might have passed unnoticed during daylight, however one would expect red flares at night would have caught someone's attention, what do I know though.
I understand that floating debris, containers included are becoming a hazard to small boats in some areas of the oceans.
