Hello,
I look for informations about the "alt-azimuth tables" of Percy Davis of 1917.
I suppose that these tables had the same presentation as HO 214, but with an interval between argument greater of 1° for limiting bulk.
I suppose also they are two utilizations :
1) given latitude, declination and hour angle, find altitude and azimuth ;
2) given latitude, altitude (instead of declination) et azimut (instead of hour angle), find declination and hour angle (star identification).
Is my interpretation correct ?
Charles Cotter said that these tables are especially usefull for star indentification (or for planning star sight) : so, I suppose the table not used for intercept method.
Thank uou in advance.
Best regards
Jacques
