I recognized that mountain immediately! That is Lookout Mountain across the river from Chattanooga, Tennessee on the border with Georgia. It has a distinctive shape.
You can see the match in the comparison photos below.
Further contemplation of David Pike's home turf, however, leads me to believe that this is the hill, made famous in song, called the "Raspberry Beret" also known sometimes as the "Roseberry Topper". And really this hillock has a remarkably similar profile to that icon of the Appalachians, Lookout Mountain. ;) Seriously, see the resemblance??!
The third photo, with the cannon, is one I took last time I visited Lookout Mountain, which seems like five years ago, but it was seventeen years ago.
