    An "Indiana Jones" moment

I had an interesting experience on the equinox. I was coming downstairs shortly after sunrise when I noticed a ray of sunlight on the floor and ending in the northeast corner of the room. (see images 1 & 2) I thought, "wait a second, how can sunlight get to that corner?" I looked around and saw a framed poster hanging on the wall and it was clear that the sunlight was reflecting off of it, mystery solved, right? (image 3) Well, no since I do not have any windows facing east towards the rising sun, just a bookcase on that wall. I do have a patio door on the south side of my house so the light had to be coming through it but the azimuth to the sun was too close to east to allow that to happen.(image 4) I went over to the patio door and looked out, mystery solved. My neighbor's house is not alligned north and south like mine but, being on a cul-de-sac, it is rotated to allign SSE. He has a window on the second floor that was reflecting the sunlight down and through my south facing patio doors so that it hit the poster hanging on my west wall and finally into the northeast corner. (image 5) I am putting it on my calendar to be up early next equinox to see if it happens again and then I will smash that corner of my wall out and look for the Arc of the Covenant obviously hidden inside.
