There’s one way to find out. Try it and see. The Sun is very low though. I’m sure the experts will bring up other reasons why it might not be very accurate apart from the reflection aspects. If it was AM rather than PM, it might be worth taking more sights as the Sun rose until the increasing breeze made surface unusable. Presumably, if the observer faced directly at the Sun, the reflection would fall exactly below the real Sun. DaveP
