"David P have you seen the photo of the shadow of a vulcan over the Kingston Flyer steam locomotive down south in NZ? I think it was taken in the 1970s. The photo was IIRC hung on the wall a a base in the UK. I have seen the photo in a railway magazine but cannot find it online. The magazines are in storage in the garage so one day maybe I should try to find the photo."
There's more discussion (from 2014) of that photo here: https://rnzaf.proboards.com/thread/20903/when-avro-vulcans-flew-southland.
By the way, for David Pike, you found an image that claims to be the shadow of a Vulcan flying over the famed lost B-24 "Lady Be Good" in the Libyan Desert. I suspect it is a fake for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that it has been shared multiple times on "pinterest". There's a useful rule of thumb: every photo found primarily on pinterest is fake. Also, the modified image is probably not the "Lady Be Good" as claimed, and I wouldn't be surprised if that wrecked B-24 is (or was) actually underwater somewhere instead of in the desert. To me it looks like it might be a side-scan sonar image instead of a photo.
