    I suppose the smart Alec answer is azimuth at the North Pole is always 180 and azimuth at the South Pole is always north.  Did I read somewhere that Shackleton or possibly Scott asked that question of would-be expedition members?

    If you use the Pole as your assumed position, calculations become very easy, because the PZX triangle becomes a straight line on the meridian of the body and Hc is it's declination*.  DaveP
