Yes, I've worked the proof that the multiplication is done on a parabole and a line. Indeed, it is very educating.
Now one last question: your notation:
(k cos L, cos2L)
Is that the cartesian coordinate pair? A point on the parabola representing the L value has (x;y) coordinates, where x=k·cos(L); y=cos2(L), right?
