Thank you, all, for this navigation resource. I am also dedicated to traditional methods of navigation. I know that the popularity of celestial slipped a little due to the introduction of the GPS, but it will come roaring back when the hackers jamb or disable the GPS system. For that reason the US Navy is bringing celestial back to its training, and probably other navies will start using it too.
I wrote a new Android App (NavPak Android/Kindle Edition) for celestial navigation and it is now in free beta phase. Later after it is completely tested by a wide audience, I may charge for it, but the price will be very low, like $4.99. Like building a wood boat, it's not profitable, but very satisfying.
I would be honored if you in this group would take a look at it. My website (shown below) has a page with more info about NavPak in general and the Android edition in particular. There are screen shots and a tutorial that show the contents of the App, and it can also be downloaded from the Google and Amazon App Stores.
Thanks for your time and interest in promoting traditional methods of navigation.
Regards,
Pete Palmer
