Hello Paul,
Thank you very much you for your most recent thorough and kind explanations.
When "hastily" following up this long thread, I stumbled upon comparing your own results with mine, until you very kindly privately confirmed to me that you had been using the UTC scale for your Vega, Deneb, Altair and Alioth computations. From that time on, the 3" to 4" difference between our results totally vanished and there is no longer any appreciable difference between our results - including the last example you quoted as "http://syrte.obspm.fr/iauWGnfa/ExPW04.html", which is great.
When reading back your last post, I acknowledge that your earlier explanations were sufficient to figure out the actual Time Scale which you have been using, i.e. the UTC one.
My remark about "not using UTC scale without saying so to navigators" ... although intended to be a joke, was maybe not appropriate then. If I happened to offend you in any way here, please accept my apologies.
You know that I appreciate our information exchanges, whether private or "public" through NavList.
I keep enjoying very much all your contributions in NavList because - among other NavList Members - we have very much in common in terms of aiming at very accurate results, even if such targeted accuracy is a definite "overkill" for our usual Celestial Navigation purposes and needs, as we all know and keep acknowledging too.
Best Friendly Regards
Kermit
