Anomalous dip

The observation I reported earlier this month in Kielerforde had a systematic error of -3.5' Now I have to agree with George's explanation that this was the case of anomalous dip. By now I tested my new pocket sextant (see the next message) enough, so that the anomalous dip remains the only explanation. I also tested my position by a good nautical map. So a combination of cold water and hot air can really give such errors, at least in Kielerforde. Alex
