Yes, I had seen your analysis of the N(x) tables and it's derivation. Your math capability vastly exceeds mine.
My data sheet from 30 years ago was made to carry everything on one flexible sheet of paper; you will note the Sun and star information, and the expansion of the N(x) table etc.
My intention is always to simplify and speed up the navigation process, even at the expense of accuracy, since there is plenty of other stuff to do at sea, or in emergency, especially when solo. Aviators went this way.
If a shot can be made when the body is on the prime meridian, the math for longitude is greatly simplified, and if an ex-meridian latitude can also be obtained, a position is found with no plotting. This is how my forefather did it over a hundred years ago!
