    Antarctic eclipse navigation

Some of you have read articles by Joe Rao on astronomical topics in various publications such as Sky & Telescope and space.com. He's a meteorologist by profession and a longtime fixture at the Hayden Planetarium in New York City. Right now he is in near Antarctica, part of an eclipse tourism cruise that hoped to see the total solar eclipse despite the relatively high probability of bad weather. In fact they were clouded out. Below you can see a screen capture of his post today showing the bridge of the vessel. I'm also including a closeup of the instrument that the captain is using to navigate, trying to plan a course to a location that might have had breaks in the clouds, but without luck. Is that an Astra IIIB? Or wait, is it an iPhone 11? :)
