Well,........
careful. These older W&P handheld are alcohol filled. Using "compass fluid", which is oil based, will potentially damage the expansion system especially at low temps. And the challenge with alcohol compasses are the gaskets and getting these to seal properly. All modern Ritchie compasses are oil filled. Only the really old flat-top Ritchie compasses are alcohol filled.
