really helpful, Frank. appreciated. have done both (sun and star altitude corrections) and got my lat for my location using a tray of water (yes, as you thought using Sun's image "on top of itself" ) to within 167m (in theory) of the GPS position so v happy. also found the gps anti spoof app v helpful too.
