Army/Air Corps sextant?

I have come across a bubble sextant that is labeled “Air Force, property of U.S. Army”. The only marking that I can read on it is “AN Z217”.
I have the sextant, a light, and the box. But I cannot get the bubble to form. Also would like to find someone that may have the instructions for use as well as someone that can assist in restoring it to operational state.
Any help is appreciated.
