I wonder if it is a US vs Rest of World thing?

Special Pub 197 "Practical Air Navigation" (US Dep of Commerce) 1938 edition uses Celestial Navigation.

Bowditch 1958 uses Celestial navigation. The term astronomical navigation is used but only in reference to Astronomical Navigation Tables British Air Pub 218.

Nicholl's Concise Guide Vol ii 1953 uses Nautical Astronomy.

Admiralty Manual of Navigation Vol II 1960 uses Nautical Astronomy in the preface. Also used in the 1928 and 1954 editions.

Raper's Nautical Tables 1906 uses Nautical Astronomy.

In a variation "The Complete Air Navigator" DCT Bennett 1940 uses "Astronomical Navigation". It is clear to see where the term "Astro" comes from. In the 1967 edition a glance through the index reveals "Astronomical Tables".
