Just a passing thought, but since attachments seem to be topical right now, perhaps we should bear in mind the two reasons that they were typically banned from email servers: 1. Bandwidth, discussed. 2. VIRUSES. Yes, most servers run AV software as do most users these days. But the viruses and malware always run ahead of the software. One of the main reasons for keeping email lists to plain text email only--is that plain text email carries a zero risk of malware attacks. Anything else, any attachment, any HTML, .DOC files, and yes, even some graphics file formats, can contain malicious code. Just something for all to consider before everyone decides that attachments are a good way for the list to go.
