If it’s a shooting schedule they’re talking about, I was also wondering why three minutes. My only thought, other than it being a LeMayism, was that a B47 would travel around 80 nm during the shooting of a three-star astro fix with three one-minute shots four minutes apart (further in a Jetstream or if using two-minute shots). Might there be a danger of a B47 flying off the Plotting Board, which appears to have 75nm radius? It’s hard to tell without instructions. Meanwhile, the links below are the closest I came to finding those.
