I played around with one of these about ten years ago, having first replaced the radium night reticule with photoluminescent paint and refreshed the ink pad. From memory, the results were poor, with position lines 30 or more miles out of position. It was assessed against a new "improved" version in 1948 and both were found to be badly wanting. I have attached a copy of the assessment. I have a copy of the instruction manual, but it is a very large file indeed (400 MB+) for so few pages. I guess it must be on the internet somewhere.
