    Hi Ed,

Good to know about the programming.  I do use the Starpath Software for my Lunar observations at sea.  It seems to work pretty well, although it take awhile for the processor to churn through it on the TI-91 hardware.  I'm not sure what the software can do on a normal computer.  I was just wondering if there was a chance to get a program on my 48GX.

The story behind the 48GX is an odd one.  Throughout high school and college in the 1990's, the schools I attended used TI's.  At first it was the TI-81 and then for college I upgraded to the TI-85, which had 10x the memory and the ability to do differential equations directly.  I made a program to do spherical trig that I had to erase for the USCG testing sessions.  Anyhow, when I graduated, I won an award that happened to be a HP 48GX.  I have used it a bit over the years but have not really had a need for such a powerful calculator in my post-scholastic life.  I bought the TI-89 with the Star Path software after my TI-85 went missing after one of my many moves.  I now use the 89 alongside my Tamaya NC-2 and Celestecomp IV at sea these days.  My NC-88 and 48GX stay at home.  I do have a 48GX emulator on my phone and that is my go-to phone calculator now, but generally only for minor computations.

    Jeremy
