Re: Best way to record time for solo sights

    Hi Bill,
I have searched near and far and could not find anything really usable.
Some G-Shock watches have such a function of recording a proper timestamp but they are expensive and the function is not immediately accessible.
I have taken to build such a thing based on Arduino, a real time clock and a LCD but it is in a very prototype sort of state.
Not very complicated though if a bit unwieldy at the moment.
Reads time and date in one line as continuously updated figures and the "frozen" timestamp in the other
With a bespoke PCB it could be really small.
Maybe someone will eventually make a small batch of such things??

    regards
    Wolfgang

I have taken to setting the stop watch going close to a minute (or better an hour), noting the error in seconds, then pressing the lap timer button. Anyone got any better simple solutions to recording the time for each sight? It would be nice to have a button on my sextant I could press with my right hand but that recorded time not stop watch. Rather than making something I feel sure such a thing already exists for some other purpose.
