Hi Colin,

We have had a Sestrel compass like this one on eBay for over 25 years. Was second hand then, with compensators missing, so can't comment on that part. On a 78' Brixham heritage sailing trawler, so not a metal boat, but much steel nearby in helm gear and mizzen fittings. Maximum deviation 3°.
