Thank you for welcoming us.
Yup, I think the key is "start early" :) I felt fortunate to have at least one kid who shares the interest of looking up the sky with me. I have a binocular that is mounted to a tripod and she would use it to look at the moon all the time. Very cute! Hopefully the passion will not fade.

Atta boy, Hien. Start 'em young. How neat to have a born sailor for a daughter. I notice she is using her left eye. Is she left-handed as well? (I'm a southpaw myself, so I admit to a bias. :-)A hearty Welcome Aboard to both of you,HewittHi all,
I would like to drop a word to say hello to everybody and thank you to Stan Klein for introducing me to this great website. I have enjoyed reading the discussions here and wish that I had known it earlier.
My name is Hien Nguyen and I am the author of the celestial app StarStruck Navigation. Recently I had been alerted to the strange logo that I have used for the app so I have decided to correct the problem by replacing it with a new logo.
I originally would like to have a picture of a more seasoned sailor using a sextant but I don't have access to any of these pictures. So I am now going to the other extreme where I am using a picture of a "young navigator" (you can see it here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.polyglotz.starstruck). It is actually a picture of my almost 5 years old daughter. She is the only one in the family that would follow me on any boating trip. The background is that of Lawlor island in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada where I was from.
Thank you and am glad to be here among, I think, a very unique group of people!
Hien
