Dave Walden. You say the ship was scrapped in Seattle a little over 50 years ago (and added the detail 'just outside your daughter's window' ---I'm picturing her opening the window, "hey! keep it down!! can't you scrap that thing a little more quietly?!!").
Can you clarify: you're talking about the small support ship that was used as a prop/setting in the filme "Mister Roberts" and the sequel "Ensign Pulver" ? Do you know for certain what vessel that was (in the USN, not the movies)? And can you tell me how you know when it was scrapped. Thank you!
For this week's "tv trivia", what's the connection between the "USS Reluctant" (in Ensign Pulver) and the first few weeks of the "USS Enterprise" (in the early Star Trek, sixty years ago this month) ?
