5 minute two part epoxy has worked well for all of my DIY Bris sextants. Small batches of epoxy mixed and applied with a tooth pick has been the prefered technique. The beam splitter glass was ordered to the desired size and paired with one cut microscope slide to assemble on a camera UV filter lens. Shims were 2mm pencil leads. No shading required. 10 useable sun reflections are formed between 12 and 61 degrees of altitude. A legacy 55mm Super Takumar SMC lens is used to hold Bris and also UTC time stamps to the second when reflection is on the horizon or when using a Davis artificial horizon.
