Ronald, You should be able to use 2 "C" size batteries in your MK IXA. Of that I am certain as I own three of them and they all take the same size of batteries. As for the manual, stand by on that. I just ordered one last night and received my PDF this morning. Once I have read it over, I will provide a short critique. cheers Robert ----- Original Message ----- From: Ronald van RietDate: Wednesday, August 15, 2007 5:19 am Subject: [NavList 3105] Re: British Mark IXA Aircraft Sextant Reconditioning Manual > > John, > > I just got my Mk IXA and everything seems to work to some extent, > although the bubble cannot be made to disappear, I will probably have > to fill the chamber some, but at the moment the bubble seems to be > just about the right size, so I should be able to make a sun shot or > so (if the clouds would only disappear). > > I have one problem for night shots, though: I cannot seem to find what > type of battery should go in.
